Check Out the Tide

I experienced a rapid tide in Hawaii. My friend and I were laying on the beach with blankets and towels looking at the stars and dozing into sleep when suddenly the water washed over us and our blankets. When we had chosen our spot, we were no where near the water. It didn't appear that we were in any danger of the waves 'catching' us! The funny thing (now) is that those wet blankets were the very ones we planned to sleep with while tent camping. It ended up being a very cold night in Hawaii.
