Don't do this

How embarrassing.

But I'm posting it as a reminder to myself to smile the next time a camera is shoved in front of me. I wasn't unhappy. I was actually happy because I was at the zoo! But I didn't know how to react with the camera on me. If I had 'faked' a smile I would have felt guilty or self conscious.

Yet if had cheesed it up, we'd have a good picture and memory. And one day when my future kids see this picture they would have thought, "Wow, mom was so young and having fun at the zoo without us."

But since I didn't smile, maybe I should delete this picture.

My mom did this too. I don't really have pictures of her when she was smiling. So on this day, October 3rd, I vow to smile.
