I went to the shelter in the Woodlands last weekend and fell in love with a dog. But he was too big. Stupid apartment rules. I want a big dog, so I was thinking about a puppy--that way when I move out of the apt in January, it'll still be in the weight guidelines.
Go to Houstonhumane.org and look at all of the cute puppies they have that need good homes. It only costs $85 to adopt a dog and they are already spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have all of their shots. It's totally worth it to adopt a puppy!!!
anyway, don't go the puppy route with an apartment...take it from amanda and me...you think you will love it but it is seriously like having a child :( (not that i would really know)
